Lithuanian Prime Minister Algirdas Butkevičius thinks that shale gas exploration should be carried out in Lithuania and that the discontinued competion for the contract should be renewed.
"In my opinion, the competition should be renewed and continued. I think it would be a sign to other investors as well," he said to RTL radio.
According to the Prime Minister, Lithuania must find out whether it has these energy resources. He also noted that, so far, it was prevented by the fact that "emotions have overshadowed healthy logic.”
"We had a case in Lithuania which had better not happen again in the future,” is how the head of the government assessed Chevron’s withdrawal.
