Approximately eight thousand clients of a credit union that was closed will have to accept that they will get back the insured amount of their balance but not the additional amount all credit union clients must pay. One hundred litas were taken from the deposited funds, and people who took a loan had to pay an additional ten percent of the sum of the loan.
All of these customers who wish to recover the additional money they paid will have to stand wait in line with creditors with little chance of getting it back. The Bank of Lithuania has declared that the credit union's obligations were similar to its assets.
