The majority of funds for the construction and reconstruction of sites in the field of culture this year will be received by the Klaipeda drama theater, the Lithuanian National Martynas Mažvydo library, Lithuanian maritime museum and the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania. Culture Minister Sarunas Birutis' decision to rebuild the palace in 2014 from the Public Investment Programme will cost 6.5 million. This project has been going on since 2002 and has claimed more than 300 million litas. Specialists believe that this is one of the largest legal money laundering schemes in Lithuania.
