The winner of the competition, who will be contracted for 10 years, will have to buy at least 540 million cubic meters of gas per year from the terminal under construction in Lithuania and sell the gas to all regulated electricity and heat producers. Litgas, a company operated by the energy conglomerate Lietuvos Energija, plans to participate in the competition. The company could be the only participant, although market players have speculated that other companies may make bids as well.
