After First Deputy Director Žydrūnas Bartkus of the Special Investigation Service (SIS) of Lithuania apologized to journalists today, his subordinates continued their operations at the home of Jūratė Damulytė, an editor of the news agency BNS.
“I do not know if this is called a search, an inspection or some other action that is done when an employee is gone,” BNS director Jurga Eivaitė said.
The head of BNS said it was difficult for her to understand such an apology from the Special Investigation Service‘s representative.
“I have read it three or four times, and tried to understand what the apology was for, but there was no way for me to understand it,” Ms. Eivaitė said.
Today Lithuania’s community of journalists held a protest near the premises of Lithuania’s Special Investigation Service.
