In a survey conducted by the company Baltic Surveys the Lithuanian President was chosen as the person of the year. Over twenty-seven percent of respondents chose her. In second place, with nearly twelve percent was Lithuania's champion swimmer Ruta Meilutytė. In third place, with just over seven percent choosing him, was Prime Minister and Social democrat Algirdas Butkevičius. Fourth place went to Victor Uspaskich and only the fifth to Leader of the Lithuanian Parliament Loreta Graužinienė. In total, respondents mentioned seventy-seven different individuals, among them thirty-three politicians, twenty-seven people from the entertainment industry or journalism, and eight athletes and coaches.
