The government hopes that by reducing youth unemployment and with people returning to an opportunity to integrate into the labor market, more and more people will opt for life in Lithuania, rather than foreign countries. Prime Minister Butkevicius explained that in his opinion everything depends on the socioeconomic situation in the country, and if people see that the changes taking place are for the long-term and that a strong efficient economy is being created in Lithuania, then it will definitely affect the people who have emigrated.
Last year alone 24 thousand people left Lithuania to live abroad.
