Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite's chief adviser on economic and social policy issues Nerijus Udrėnas has asserted that neither the government of the capital nor the company Dalkia, which leases the rights to the heating sector in Vilnius and for which high heat rates are useful, are interested in making effective and useful solutions to reorganize the system. Mr. Udrėnas summarized his argument, stating that Vilnius is a big city and there must be economies of scale and it is possible and necessary to achieve heating prices there that are the lowest among major cities in Lithuania.
