Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė together with Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark, who is currently on an official visit to Lithuania, have opened a bilateral business forum in the country with 200 participants from various Lithuanian and Danish companies. Representatives of 22 different Danish companies came to Lithuania with the crown prince.
President Grybauskaite remarked, “I hope that more and more Danish businesses discover that there is more to Lithuania than just an attractive consumer market. We have a similar work culture and a highly qualified, industrious workforce, and so we understand each other and can work together. Many Danish companies employ Lithuanian IT, finance, engineering and design experts to work in global markets. Lithuanian businesses are also expanding their exports to Denmark”.
According to the president, the work of the two countries together has already materialized excellent results in the finance, engineering, transport and food industries and both countries have an interest in finding new opportunites for cooperation in several new fields, such as communications and laser technologies. The president also claimed that in the face of increasing globalisation it is crucial to ensure competitiveness. She asserted, “We will achieve this only if we collaborate and pool our strengths.”
