Chair of the Lithuanian parliament Loreta Graužinienė has voiced her approval of the work of the Special Investigation Service of the Republic of Lithuania and other legal authorities fighting corruption in the country. She said that considering the amount of financial resources and other capacities the government allocates, these institutions actually do their job well enough. She admits that she always wants to make it even better, but she would like to thank the personnel who do that challenging work. She added that she thinks that both the country’s ministries and other institutions should engage in more work on educating people about corruption, particularly, for example, in the fields of health and education.
Ms. Graužinienė asserted that she had not spoken to Special Investigation Service leaders about investigations of politicians or searches of the homes of journalists.
