Even though the illegally dismissed officials won in court, influential interest groups are seeking to prevent the attribution of responsibility to high-ranking state officials who participated in this story, such as Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaitė, the State Security Department Deputy Director Romualdas Vaišnoras and former Interior Minister Raimundas Palaitis, as well as to prevent the investigation of crimes, including a leak of information to the daily Lietuvos rytas (English -- Lithuanian Morning) about the planned nationalization of Snoras bank .
While these questions remain unanswered the scandal is not over, despite the TV3 television report claiming that favourable court decisions towards Mr. Gailius and Mr. Giržadas are the end of it.
