According to CEC Chairman Zenonas Vaigauskas, there were 3476 corrected signatures and the commission will check them within two weeks. If the signatures are deemed valid, then it will be just approximately one thousand short of the amount needed for the referendum. However, the initiative group members have the opportunity to correct more than twice as much as that by January 29th. Meanwhile, on January 22nd Lithuania’s Supreme Administrative Court will hear the proceedings of the complaint by some members of the group about the CEC's decision on January 14th about the referendum.
