The National Security and Defense Committee (CNSD) in conjunction with the Criminal Intelligence Parliamentary Control Commission will at the request of the parliament begin a fact-finding investigation on possibly illegal effects on state institutions and possible links of an organized group of people to the State Security Department (SSD).
According to Committee Chairman Artūras Paulauskas, this is related to both the case of Snoras Bank and the case of dismissal of former heads of FCIS – Vitalijus Gailius and Vytautas Giržadas.
