It has been suggested to legalize in the administrative code penalties for debasement of the family. Under the project proposed by vocal, anti-gay activist and parliamentarian Petras Grazulis, there would be fines of between 1,000 and 3,000 for negating the family values set forth in the Lithuanian Constitution, that is for public displays, displayed objects, posters, slogans, audio-visual media and other actions that debase the family.
For repeat offenses the fines would jump to from 3000 to 6000 thousand Lithuanian litas. Details on specifically by who and how infringement would be determined were outlined.
