Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite presented the results of the Lithuanian Presidency of the Council in Strasbourg. The President noted that during the six months of the presidency Lithuania successfully overcame the challenges imposed upon it by not only performing all the work planned but by doing more than was expected. President Grybauskaite said that she was proud that Lithuania demonstrated that it could perform tasks of the presidency as well as established EU member states. She continued that the Lithuanian presidency was exceptional and had not only twice the normal workload, but also had to withstand external pressures.
