Despite the fact that last year a three Baltic State Ministerial Declaration was signed, Estonia and Latvia would like to once again consider at the political level the connection of Vilnius to the trans-European Rail Baltica route, which halts the three Baltic States' negotiations on establishing a joint venture. According to the Lithuanian Minister of Transport Rimantas Sinkevičius, if Riga and Tallinn do not approve joining Vilnius to the project, it may result in a complete failure.
