Signer of Lithuania's Declaration of Independence Zigmas Vaišvila has turned to Lithuanian parliament to call for the impeachment of Lithuanian president Dalia Grybauskaite .
According to Mr. Vaišvila, a large amount of publicly available information provides grounds for impeachment as set out in the Constitution of the Republic of Lithuania in Article 86 , stating that President Grybauskaite violated the Constitution of the Republic of Lithuania and possibly committed crimes related to the bankruptcy of Snoras bank, the unlawful firing of leaders of the Financial Crime Investigation Service, the lack of attention paid to the will of the people as expressed in the referendum on the construciton of a new nuclear power plant in Lithuania, the release of the content of a memo from the State Security Department to the media and other situations.
One of the items offered for impeachment is that President Grybauskaite knowingly submitted false autobiographical information during the period of elections, hiding certain facts from voters. Specifically, on March 11th, 1990 after the restoration of Lithuania 's independence , President Grybauskaite remained to work for Moscow in the loyal Vilnius Higher Party School, where the headquarters of opposition to independence were formed.
