Former Prime Minister and Opposition Leader Andrius Kubilius says that his party are not really Russophobes

Homeland Union-Lithuanian Christian Democrat Party Chair Andrius Kubilius rejects allegations that the Conservatives are Russophobes and says that the word describes those people who suggest to never disagree with Russia and to not speak out about what Russia might be doing wrong. He explained that his party often hears that are Russophobes and are supposedly afraid of Russia; he claims that the critics go on to say that everyone knows that Lithuania has to be friends with Russia regardless of what it does, and in order to do so Lithuania should not talk out loud about things that Russia is doing improperly. He concluded that he sometimes gets the impression that it’s better not to see what you see, but that he believes that ones who advise Lithuania to act and think this way are actually the real Russophobes.
