Lithuania's Central Election Commission has announced its decision on a proposed referendum

Over three hundred and thirteen thousand signatures were presented by the organizing group on November 29th in support of a referendum on the ban of the sale of land in Lithuania to foreigners, of which more than seven thousand signatures were obtained electronically. After inspection, minus all the signatures that Lithuania's Central Election Commission deemed inappropriate, there were just over two hundred and ninety thousand signatures. However, according to information from the chairman of the Election Commission, the number of signatures with problems that the commission deemed to not be of high importance was just under ten and a half thousand, which means that with the illegible signatures there should have still been more than three hundred thousand. The term for correcting the illegible signatures is from the following January 6 to January 21.
