The Vilnius County Court has decided that Director Kristijonas Algirdas Kučinskas and accountant Svajonė Piestienė of the Jonas Mekas Visual Art Center have committed crimes, but that they should avoid criminal responsibility.
The court exempted Mr. Kučinskas and Ms. Piestienė from criminal responsibility by releasing them for two years without requiring bail.
Prosecutor Valerijus Sevostjanovas, who supported the state charges in the case, did not object to the fact that the defendants would be exempted from criminal responsibility.
