Today is the 13th January – the day when thousands of unarmed citizens defended the freedom of Lithuania from the Soviet military and an attempt to take over the state. Signer of the act re-establishing Lithuania's independence Zigmas Vaišvila took the opportunity to talk about the importance of the personal sacrifice of those who died that day.
