To achieve this, the Minister of Environment has set to reduce the accumulated bureaucracy in the areas of territorial planning, construction, maintenance and operation, but “not to jeopardize safety requirements”. A step forward in this area, according to Mr. Mazuronis, has already been made after a new version of the Territorial Planning Law, which essentially repealed the need to develop detailed plans, was adopted. Now, strategists are looking for solutions to problems related to infrastructure – various communications networks, and others. Changes in laws regulating construction, construction supervision and usage of constructed facilities are also being prepared.
