The Lithuanian Ministry of Energy, which owns nearly eighteen per cent of the shares of the Lithuanian natural gas company Lietuvos Dujos has suggested that the company start a new arbitration process to reduce gas prices set by the gas contract of 1999, which was subsequently amended and added to and is by far the main current contract for gas purchase from Gazprom. The shareholders decision is supported by the largest shareholder E.ON, which controls nearly forty percent of shares of the company. Meanwhile, the company Gazprom, which holds another nearly forty percent is against the move.
