The bill establishes the preparations for the euro, the exchange of litas for euro, the recall of national currency, and other practical aspects of the changeover. The adoption of the law and the implementing legislation will provide a legal basis for the introduction of the euro to Lithuania. The bill has also been sent to the European Central Bank, whose comments will be considered during parliamentary deliberations.
