On a visit to Lithuania Polish politician Adam Lipinski said that many of the problems with the Polish minority in Lithuania would be solved by the Ethnic Minorities Law

Mr. Lipniski described the current situation as political discomfort. It should be noted that

The Jerzy Giedroyc Forum for Dialogue and Co-operation established by Lithuanian intellectuals, journalists and public figures have also addressed opposition leader Andrius Kubilius and Foreign Affairs Minister Linas Linkevičius with a similar initiative. In the view of the public figures, it is the time to fulfill election promises and accept the Law on National Minorities, and to not use rhetoric that divides society on ethnic grounds in the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections.
